Dog of the Month

Did You Know...?
BRUSHING You should brush the dog's coat thoroughly every day. Brushing will help keep the dog's hair in good condition by removing dirt, spreading the natural oils throughout the coat, preventing tangles from forming and keeping the skin clean and free from irritation. |

Pets as FamilyAt Midwest, we use the term pet instead of dog because we believe that pets are family members. When training or working, we always keep in mind that we are helping someone's family member, not just their "dog." Hands-on ApproachWe believe that time is very important in grooming. That is why we spend a majority of it teaching students hands-on instead of a classroom. Books are great and we do recommend them, but nothing beats working with the animals one on one. Students will learn and partake in discussions while working directly on the pets. This approach teaches multi-tasking and efficiency, while allowing students to utilize their skills in a professional environment. |
